Worms 4 Mayhem Ps2 Ntsc Iso
I fyou like blowing up your enemies with sheep then Worms4 Mayhem is the game for you.Worms4 Mayhem is the 2nd 3D game in the infamous wormsseries. If you havent played a worms game before, what happens is that you are given a team of wormsto command and with the help of these cute yet deadlyworms you have to eliminate the opposing teamsworms. To accomplish this task you are given a massivearsenal of weapons both conventional and unconventionalto help you out.Worms4 improves upon almost everything that Worms 3D itsprequel had to offer plus it also fixes those issues, which prevented Worms 3D from being an enjoyable game.Worms4 has 2 main modes of play to offer. Story and Multiplayer. The story mode is the single player campaign whereyou will get to play through a total of 25 missionsspread through 5 different eras- Jurassic, Camelot,Arabian, Construction and Wild West. Besides destroyingworms in the single player mode youre also chargedwith objectives such as recovering items or smashingscenery. Story mode is quite fun to play because themissions are filled with variety. For example onemission has you defending a castle for a specificamount of time while another one puts you in a duelin the Wild West where you have to destroy your setof targets before the enemy destroys his.Themultiplayer mode is the mode where this game trulyshines.
This mode contains 5 different game typesnamely Deathmatch, Homelands, Destruction, StatueDefend and Survivor. Deathmatchin this game is the same as the deathmatch foundin any FPS game. The player with the most killswins.
Simple and easy. InHomelands each team begins with control over a fortfor tactical play kind of like a team deatchmatch. Thereis a race to destroy the enemys base in Destruction. Whilein Statue Defend you have to destroy the enemysstatue while defending your own. Andin Survivor each team uses 1 worm at a time.
Deathof 1 worm spawns another one until 1 team runs outof worms.Inteam based game types in multiplayer mode a maximumof 4 teams can go head to head with each other on1 map at the same time. Online multiplayer supportis available on the PC and the Xbox but not on thePS2. I wonder why. (Worms 4 Mayhem will NOT be availablein North America on the PS2 due to a lack of approvalon SCEA).Besidesthe above mode quick game is also available that putsyou straight into the game without you requiring tomake any selections. Tutorial teaches you the basicgameplay mechanics of the game and Challenge modelets you complete specific challenges in a given amountof time.Theamount of customization available in this game isunmatched.
You can customize almost everything inthe game. Names, speech (the type of voice your wormswill have) Heads, eyes, face and hands are all customizable.Heads can be customized with afros, caps, hats etc.Eyes with 3D glasses, eye patches, sunglasses etc, face with different types of mustaches and hands withdifferent styles like cowboy, pirate etc. Besidesbody parts you can also select your team flag, yourteam grave and your team weapon. Yes now you can makea weapon of your choice. The create a weaponmode lets you do just that. With a wide variety ofoptions that can be modified you are sure to designa weapon that will satisfy your destruction needs.Besidesthe already available huge amount of customizationitems available you can purchase even more from theItem Shop.
In the item shop you can purchaseitems by spending points that you earn while playingthe story mode. Finish a particular level in the targettime and you will get extra points. Items availablefor purchase include maps, sounds, hats, hands, weaponsand much more.Speakingof weapons Worms 4 Mayhem has one of the largest arsenalof weapons I have ever seen in a game. This arsenalincludes both conventional weapons like grenades, sniper rifles, shotguns, cluster bombs etc to themore unconventional weapons such as sheep, bananabombs, holy grenade, old woman (that is the name ofthe weapon), fatkin strike (similar to an air strikebut with a trademark Worms twist) etc.TheWorms series is well known for its weird andfunny weapons thus keeping in line with this traditionthis game doesnt disappoint. The above-mentionedunconventional weapons are both fun to look whileusing them is quite enjoyable.Besidesthe weapons arsenal you also have what I like to callsupport items. These include jet packs which can beused for reaching enemy worms in higher places thanyou, ninja ropes which can be used for scaling walls, parachutes which allow you to float down from a wall,a tower etc, anvils that allow you to build your ownbridge to access areas and bubble trouble (again thatsthe name of the item) that acts as shield againstenemy attacks.Thegameplay of Worms 4 is quite addictive.
With so manydifferent ways to destroy your enemies its hardnot to get hooked on. Besides the weapons the environmentsare also fully destructible thus making it even moreenjoyable. One problem that plagued the last gamewas the camera. It was stiff and most of the timesgot stuck in places from where it was hard to aimat your enemies or even get a good look at the terrain. That camera is gone for good measure. Now you canfully rotate the camera plus zoom in and out so youcan better plan your attack.
The camera plays an importantrole in a game like this because for air strikes andbazooka fires you have to aim properly to ensure aclean hit plus if you move carelessly without knowingthe map you can easily fall in the water and instantlydie because these worms though able to fire bazookascant swim. With these changes it doesntmean the gameplay is flawless because it is not. Sinceyou have to sit and watch every move the CPU makesit slows down the pace of the game. With some mapsbeing bigger than others you will wish that therewas some way that you didnt have to watch CPUmoves or maybe fast forward them. What makes thisfact more irritating is that after wandering aroundthe map for some time and wasting time the CPU willdecide to skip his turn.
I also found the AI to bea bit inconsistent. In the duel mission where targetshave to be destroyed I found that the aim of the CPUwas spot on and he beat me more than once whereasin another level the aim was not so great and he missedme several times plus he even injured himself withhis attacks. Besides aiming, CPU worms in some missionsare unwilling to attack you and happily skip theirturn while you annihilate them.Graphicswise the game is nothing extraordinary. The environmentsthough not extremely detailed are colorful and easyto look at.
All the worms look the same and the onlything that sets them apart is the gear. The wholegame bears a cartoon like look which works perfectlyfor the game since the game isnt going for anyrealism here. The weapons and explosions all looknice. Though the worms have hands they donthave arms, which looks kind of strange.Thereis very little voice acting in the game and whatevervoice acting there is, it is only there to add humorto the game. Different worm teams like Gunslingers, the Scots, Funky Dudes etc will utter catch phrasesin their own style. Gunslingers have a western accent,Funky Dudes an eighties style accent and so on.
Eachaccent is spot on and distinguishes between differentworm teams effectively. Besides the catch phrasesall worms speak the same language that sounds a lotlike the word me and nothing else. Butstill different emotions like anger, surprise etcare shown nicely by using different tones of the sameword and hand gestures. The music takes a backseatto the sound effects and is soft mellow and forgettable. There will hardly be any tunes which you will wanthum to.Aspecial mention has to be made about the humor ofthis game. This is no doubt the funniest strategygame I have ever played. Whether its the weapons, the worms language, their actions and emotionswhen they are about to be hit or their catch phrases, everything is UNIQUE and SPOT ON. I dont thinkthis review does justice to the humor of this game. You have to play it to experience it.Finally, with so many changes and customization options thisis a must have for fans of the series ensuring a longreplayabilty.
Whereas casual gamers and those lookingfor a simple and fun game to pass their time shoulddefinitely check it out.
Those crazy invertebrates are at it again! The guys at Team 17 have had many games under their belt, but the wildly popular Worms series earned them the most fame and glory. Though a few installments have diverged from the core gameplay, this turn-based strategy classic returns to its roots with Worms 4: Mayhem. This latest chapter in the silly saga proves there is still life in the franchise, even if it might seem a bit stale to the faithful. All the familiar hallmarks are present: teams of witty wrigglies squirm around fanciful, fully destructible landscapes, blasting their brethren with a huge selection of armaments both ridiculous and sublime.

Like its more modern predecessors, Worms 4 embraces the third dimension; old pros that easily finessed factors like launch power, firing angle, and wind speed in the earlier 2D titles must now adapt to the added depth of the third dimension. So does Worms 4 have any of that old magic? Well, the switch from colorful 2D to flat-looking 3D might not have been the best call, but this game is definitely the one to make the best use of this transition.

Possibly the best improvement are in the controls – unlike the unwieldy Worms 3D, in Worms 4 you can walk, jump and backflip through the environment quite easily. Both the camera and movement controls are much more responsive.Multiplayer still remains the heart of the Worms games. You can’t help but giggle when unleashing a Bovine Blitz on up to four of your pals during hotseat play. Combined with a funny and engaging story mode that does a good job at introducing beginners (the missions are very easy this time), and the general control fixes and enhancements, Worms 4 comes off as the Worms 3D we were meant to have.System Requirements: Pentium III 1 Ghz, 512 MB RAM, 2 GB HDD, WinXP.
