I've tried looking for a solution to this but haven't found anything. Basically, my 2 month old Acer Aspire desktop stopped working yesterday and only gives the 'Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key' message. Oh well, time for a full system recovery! Except, I cannot access Windows' own tools I usually use for this process and apparently would have to use Acer's own eRecovery instead. For this to work I need to enable the D2D/recovery in the BIOS settings. It's just that it is not there.
I can easily find the option on this older Acer I'm using to post this thread but it's nowhere to be found on the newer PC. What could cause this? I haven't done any BIOS updating or anything nor have I changed any parts. Is it a software error or do I need to replace some parts instead? Acer's own support has been basically useless thus far. It is still under warranty however the line's already closed for today.
Acer Aspire One D2d Recovery Program
The brief moment I did manage to talk to someone in the support just before they called it a day left me with this 'just find the D2D recovery option in the BIOS'. So I have now tried to locate it just in case I could recover the PC tonight instead of having to wait until tomorrow and wait for Acer to do something but if it sounds like it's not a software error but rather a hardware error, or a software error I can't fix without a recovery DVD/USB then I know to just quit. That's why I'm asking if anyone here has an idea.
